Clearing asks you about the things that matter most in your life. That is intimate information, and this page explains plainly what we collect, why, where it goes, and how you can take it back.

What we store

  • Your email address and sign-in sessions, so you can log in.
  • Optional context you give during onboarding: birth year, country, relationship, children, work and money situation. Every field except birth year can be skipped.
  • Your reflection, your Life Map items, the timing and importance you give them, and your weekly review answers.
  • What the product derives from those: Regret Radar readings, recommendations, and your timeline.
  • Your feedback on insights (useful, not accurate, and so on), which tunes what you see next.
  • Billing status if you subscribe. Card details are held by Stripe, never by us.
  • A technical log of each AI request: which model, how many tokens, how long it took, whether it worked. Never the text itself.

How AI is used

Some features send your words to OpenAI to turn a reflection into Life Map candidates, write a short weekly reflection, phrase a Radar observation, or offer timing context. We send only what that feature needs: the relevant text, the item titles involved, and coarse context such as an age band. We never send your email, name, or billing details. Under OpenAI's API terms, this data is not used to train their models.

Regret Radar statuses are computed by fixed rules from the data you entered, not by a model. The model only writes the sentence. Every insight shows the stored facts behind it under “Why am I seeing this?”.

Who can see your data

Only you. Every table that holds your content is protected by row-level security, which means the database itself refuses to return one person's rows to another. Our staff do not read your reflections or reviews. We have no social features, no public profiles, and we do not sell or share data with advertisers.

Services we rely on

  • Supabase (database and authentication), hosted in Canada.
  • OpenAI (language model requests).
  • Stripe (payments and subscription management).
  • Resend (transactional email such as sign-in links and weekly reminders).
  • Vercel (hosting).
  • PostHog (product analytics: which screens are used and where people drop off, never reflection text).
  • Sentry (error reporting, with personal content scrubbed).

Email

We send sign-in links and, if you leave it on, one weekly review reminder at the day and time you choose. You can turn the reminder off in Settings at any time. We do not send marketing email.

Your control

  • Export everything as a JSON file from Settings.
  • Delete your account from Settings. This removes your data immediately and permanently, including from our database backups within 30 days.
  • Correct anything by editing it in the product.

Retention

We keep your data for as long as your account exists. Deleted accounts are removed right away. Aggregate, non-identifying usage statistics may be retained.

Children

Clearing is for adults. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone under 16.
